PR Thursday and The Dangerous “Hidden Sugar”

by Ryan on April 21, 2010

Happy Thursday everyone!  Let me hear about those P.R.s for the week.  I want to hear about a new band you used for Pull-Ups, a clean P.R. on Friday, or a new best on yesterday’s 100 burpees for time.  I want to hear about the success you have been having with our Spring LEANing challenge.  Come one come all I want to hear your accomplishments for the week!  I’ll start off again cause I have a couple of P.R.s to report:  First I power clean and jerked 205 lbs, and I had a P.R. in the 100 burpees too: 7:20.  Now it is your turn.  What went really well this week?

Next up, it looks like the main stream media is starting to catch on with this hidden sugar in processed food deal.  Check this video out and let me know what you think.  To me it seems like one more reason to leave bread behind!

Hidden Dangers Found in Sugar and Salt

Don’t Forget!  We are getting a group together for Bay to Breakers.  Please talk to me, reply to this post, or shoot me an email if you are interested so I can put you on our list.  I need to know if you want to be a part of our group by next Friday (Apr. 30) so I can get us registered as a group.  Cost will be right around $42.00 for race fees and Wine Country CrossFit is throwing in a T-Shirt and water bottle for all members who participate.

I witnessed some massive efforts in the 100 burpees WOD yesterday, great job folks!
A lot of questions where flying around on what are the things you can eat on the Paleo diet.
Here is a list you might want to print out and stick on the fridge. My major objection would be diet sodas……..

Last night’s teen class saw more shattered P.R.’s again. This time it was overhead squats with Logan V. raising his 3 rep P.R. by 17.5 pounds. These kids are amazing!

Keep up the good work guys!
