There are a couple of changes brewing for the weekend class starting next week.
As of March 27th, we will be switching the Sunday 9am class to Saturday at 9am. This class will continue to be open to all Wine Country CrossFit members, and hopefully some folks who haven’t been able to attend because of the time on Sunday, will be able to join us now.
Do you ever have trouble explaining to people what is is that you do in the gym? Why it is wayyyy better than walking on a treadmill, bouncing on a bosu ball, and doing bicep curls? Here is your chance to show your friends and family what CrossFit is all about. On the first Saturday of every month, we will be hosting an open house workout at 10am. This workout is open to anyone and everyone. It will be scaled to ANY level of physical fitness. Please bring a friend, relative, neighbor, or skeptic to see what CrossFit is all about, and show them how they can get in the best shape of their life.
Finally, a big congratulations to Erica B, who got her first kipping pullup last week. Erica has really been putting in the effort to make this work, and it has paid dividends. As if reaching her goal of one kipping pullup wasn’t enough, last night Erica kipped her way through a workout that had a grand total of 45 pullups, without any assistance! Way to go girl!
If you don’t have a goal up on the board yet, you can be sure that Beth and I will be hounding you for it. It doesn’t need to be something earth shattering, but let’s give our training a bit of purpose here. There has to be something that you would like to do better, let’s make it official.

Way to go Erica! In my kids classes we have had some kipping pull-up success recently as well. Mikah was seen on the bars before class on Monday just busting them out one after another and Taylor has the kipping part totally down. She just needs to get that little pop up to the bar. Davide is also really close. All those beginner pull-ups and monkey swings we have been doing are starting to pay off. We will be doing our fitness tests again next Wednesday and I am really hoping to see some of these kids who could not do a single pull-up on the last test finally knock some out.
Great idea on the Open House workouts. I will try to get some people down there on April 3rd.
